Baosteel summarized and analyzed the commercial magnesium coated steel plates. The content of magnesium and Mg in most of the coatings was 3%. According to the different content of aluminum in the coatings, the zinc aluminum magnesium coatings were divided
into the following parts.
1 . Low aluminum zinc aluminum magnesium coating, aluminum content: 1-3.5%. The coating is added with certain aluminum magnesium and other elements in hot-dip galvanizing. Baosteel conducted an industrial test for the first time in June 2016. The color
coated knitted fabric test was also carried out on the coated steel plate, and the color steel plate with low aluminum, zinc, aluminum and magnesium substrate was successfully developed. The coating is an upgraded version of the corrosion resistance of
hot-dip galvanized coating. Baosteel is abbreviated as BZM coated steel plate and its color steel plate.
2 . Medium aluminum zinc aluminum magnesium coating, aluminum content: 5 ~ 11%
3 . High aluminum zinc aluminum magnesium coating, aluminum

Comparison of zinc plating, aluminum plating, zinc aluminum magnesium plating
1 . Zinc coating and metal coating with zinc content of more than 99% belong to economic anti-corrosion coating. It can be divided
into galvanized steel plates with and without zinc flowers, and their corrosion resistance is roughly the same. If painting and painting are needed later, the products without zinc flowers will be more beautiful, while the products with thick zinc layer
are usually mainly flowers (for example, the weight of zinc layer is 275g / m2).
2 . Aluminum zinc coating is an alloy metal with aluminum content of 55%, zinc content of 43.5%, residual component of silicon, and the corrosion resistance of general
aluminum zinc coating is 2 ~ 6 times that of zinc coating with the same weight. Due to the improvement of production technology, the surface of aluminized zinc steel coil can produce beautiful and uniform zinc flowers, which can be directly used for external
use of buildings and household appliances. However, aluminum zinc plating also has some disadvantages. First, the welding performance of aluminum zinc plating is worse than that of zinc plating, and the welding process must be reduced as much as possible
in use. On the other hand, the notch protection of aluminum zinc plating on steel plate is much lower than that of zinc plating, especially zinc aluminum magnesium plating.
3. Zinc aluminum magnesium coating is an alloy metal with excellent comprehensive
performance. The manufacturing cost is slightly higher than that of aluminum zinc plating. The corrosion resistance of the coating is much higher than that of galvanized and aluminum zinc plated steel plates. It has very good protection against the notch
of steel plates, and the welding performance is equivalent to that of galvanized steel plates. At present, zinc aluminum magnesium steel plates have been directly applied in the market. The zinc aluminum magnesium color steel plates applied as color coated
substrates are also mass produced and widely used by Baosteel. The zinc aluminum magnesium steel plates used directly belong to high aluminum zinc aluminum magnesium, and the zinc aluminum magnesium steel plates used as color coated substrates belong
to low aluminum zinc aluminum magnesium. With the improvement of material requirements in construction and various industries, zinc aluminum magnesium coated steel plate may replace aluminum zinc plated steel plate in the market.
